Claudio Reche was born in Buenos Aires in l961. He has advanced engineering studies at Universidad Tecnológica. He dived into photography, drawing and philosophy due to his eclectic personality and his self-taught vocation.
When he was a kid, he played with spare railroad screws that were thrown away by the railroad repair workers. At that time, the smooth Reche’s little hands handled the same metal he works with today. He slept with an old rust dirty hands fragrance.
Reche worked in the Railway Repair Building, among a singular mixture of the most unexpected arts and works. Over there, he had access to different methods of working and forging with different steels, where ancient techniques of XVIII and XIX Centuries were applied and amazingly endured medieval reminiscences remained.
He combined all this knowledge, his research-loving, careful and responsive personality with his effort and human’s creation. Thus, he made knives craft by means of hammer and anvil. So, those rust cold metal fragrances are found in Reche’s knives turning into a multifaceted tool, man’s ancestral heritage, where the energy, beauty and atavistic are merged.
